Major Take-Aways From WWDC 2011

Apple’s CEO announced today a new service called iCloud at Apple’s WorldWide Developer Conference 2011. The service allows Apple product owners to store both documents and music in the cloud (on the Internet) rather than on a physical computer, hard drive, or mobile phone.

With the iCloud, users will be able to have greater access to content without having to max out their portable media devices. The iCloud also will offer the convenience of synchronizing automatically with all of the user’s Apple devices (iPhone, iPads, and Mac computers), allowing users to access docs, apps, calendars, and e-mails from any location without having to worry to remember to hit the Sync Button on their computer. Here are some key highlights:

Genuine iPhone iOS5 Image?

TechCrunch has posted a photo (top) of the home screen of an iPhone running iOS 5 which will officially launch later today at the WWDC keynote address in San Francisco. TechCrunch didn’t report the original source of the image and claim that it is possible it is another fake, but made some interesting points on why it might be real.

TechCrunch first directs our attention to the European version of the weather app, denoting the temperature in Celsius rather than Fahrenheit. The next detail is the camera app being all black.

iPhone 4S Coming This Year, iPhone 5 Due Next Year?

A rumor has been circulating around the Internet today, and don’t worry it’s not one of those ‘vicious’ types. The rumor is that the next-generation iPhone will contain curved glass. According to industry sources, Apple has purchased between 200 and 300 glass cutting machines for the production of the curved covers.

Since glass cutting machines are typically expensive, we can bet that Apple is going to use this to give the iPhone a fresh new look.

Rumor: iPhone 5 Release Date

We’ve heard the many rumors circulating around in regards to the iPhone 5. Many originally claimed that the iPhone 5 would debut at the WWDC 2011 until we heard that the worldwide developers conference would focus on software rather than hardware. Yesterday, a vague date of November, 2011 was given from an employee working at his local store.

A guy by the name of Shazna gave a clearer date today of November 21st, 2011 as the release date in the United Kingdom which would make sense given that this would be plenty of time for the iPhone 5 to be constructed.
