Are Apple Users No Longer Safe from Malware?

The Most people think Mac users have nothing to worry about when it comes to malware. This has been true for many years, but things are changing. A new report from ZDNet blogger Ed Bott reported that a malicious app called MAC Defender is infecting more Mac users than before. An unnamed apple care supporter reported that “many, many people” are falling for the MAC Defender attack. Apple care is not really supposed to help with malware, but most of the representatives do anyways.

99.7% Of Android Users At Risk To Data Leaks

According to Adrian Kingsley Hughes from ZDNet, 99.7% of Android smartphones are leaking login information for Google services. This massive data leak may allow other cloud-stored information to be leaked as well. Where does this massive leak come from? Apparently, it is based on the way Google requests authentication tokens (tokens that exist to eliminate the hassle of logging in each time into a service).

How To Use Social Media, Effectively

Jason Hiner from ZDNet wrote a compelling article on how we should use different social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. He argues that we should treat different social platforms much like we would treat our own kids. Rather than parenting each child in the exact same way, Hiner notes that it is often best to treat each kid a bit differently and adhere to their individual strengths and weaknesses. Same goes for Social, according to him. Social Media is powerful, it’s growing, it’s now. Rather than cross-posting in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Foursquare, Hiner thinks it is best to post in such a way that is optimal for each social platform.
