Nvidia Kai Platform To A Next Level

Nvidia is planning to bring the KAI PLATFORM to a next level. We have seen this new technology being introduced in quad-core Tegra 3 chip of Google nexus 7. But now they have planned to introduce this project on smart phones as well. Which means that users will get quad core devices with Nvidia chips and Google (android) operating system.

ZTE Kis Now Available At Virgin

ZTE along with its partner UK mobile carrier Virgin Mobile have rolled out their up-to-the-minute cheaper Android smartphone, the ZTE Kis. The ZTE Kis features Android SO v2.3.5 Gingerbread and is made available on Virgin Media’s pay across the UK. The phone has dimensions of 114.5 x 62.5 x 11.5 mm, touch-sensitive controls and a reasonably large HVGA capacitive touch display of 3.5 inch.

This awesome new Gingerbread smartphone comes with a 4.3″ display, rocking a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It’s powered by an 800MHz processor and comes with 256MB of RAM/512MB of ROM, and 150MB of internal storage.

Nvidia Swallows Icera For $367M

We have just heard that Nvidia has swallowed Icera for $367 million dollars. This move gets Nvidia’s foot in the door for baseband and radio chips, leaving some to guess that perhaps Nvidia is thinking of making its own phone. With the Icera acquisition, Nvidia will now be able to combine high-end processors, with cell phone communications.

Nvidia believes that Icera can help it double its revenue from each mobile device.

ZTE 7-inch Tablet/Smartphone Coming Soon

Although ZTE usually makes inexpensive OEM feature phones, they have decided to jump on board with the tablet craze after seeing other manufacturers have success. The company’s most recent effort in the Android market involves the company’s new tablet, the ZTE V9 which appeared at MWC earlier this year. The company has recently received approval from the FCC which indicates a likely release of the new tablet sometime this year.
